Another Virus in Nigeria, deadlier than Covid-19

Nigeria government have asked us to stay at home, and for the past one month we've been at home, waiting and hoping that the lockdown will be called off.

The motive for this lockdown is to keep Nigerians safe and ensure that we are all alive yet at the end of this pandemic but my question is this have we Nigerians really been safe in this country?

Nigeria to me has always been a death trap i.e, going out and coming in everyday in this country is by the grace of God, our roads are death traps that claims lives everyday, there is the aspect of malaria and typhoid and other sicknesses killing people because our health facilities are not well structured, the kidnaps, robberies and the most rampant one which is now the herdsman killing in the north and cultism in the south yet our government has decided to make this coronavirus issue a ground for government to experiment their reckless rules and policies that enrich their pockets and impoverish the common man in the country.

Government asked us to stay at home but no plans for the common man's survival during this lockdown.

Right now the virus seem to be the least of our worries. First there is the issue of hunger which can cause death, then the insecurity that has been happening all thanks to the "one million boys and awawa boys" people are now afraid to go to the hospital when they are sick because they fear they will get whisked away to isolation and get infected with the virus thanks to the news and report they hear and read online about vaccines being given to people that causes the virus and this still leads to people dying because our government does not take the citizen's welfare as their topmost priority.

Whichever way we look at it, death is inevitable in this country, lockdown or not, the death rate has not been affected, so I'll rather be at work, earning something to take care of myself and family than stay home, waiting for palliatives that will never come, because our government determines who they feel should get it, after all it has been said that the palliatives is for the northerners in particular, like the southerners are not part of Nigeria.

Is this how we will all fold our arms and get ravaged by these deadly viruses called 'hunger and insecurity' due to the insensitivity on the part of Nigeria government?

Anyways my prayer and hope is that we all come out of this mess alive and in one piece. God help us all. Amen.
